Minnesota Men Pull off an Upset

The Minnesota Golden Gophers had been 6-19 overall and 0-13 in the Big Ten before surprising the nation’s sixth-ranked men’s basketball team.

Nate Mason delivered 18 points, six rebounds and six assists as Minnesota beat visiting Maryland 68-63. Jordan Murphy added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Gophers, who pulled off the upset despite shooting 33 percent.

Rasheed Sulaimon scored 28 points for the Terrapins, who had 15 turnovers in dropping their second straight.
