We are one week away from a Primary Election day. On the Marshall county election ballot there is one contested county race on the Republican side of the ticket for County Board of Supervisors. Two newcomers, County Sheriff, Ted Kamatchus, who is retiring, will face Steven Salasek for the right to go on and be on the ballot in November. All the other county races are unopposed.

There is a contested race on the Democratic side for U.S. Representative in District One. Pat Murphy is taking on Monica Vernon for the right to go up against incumbent Rod Blum in November. Also on the Marshall County ballot on the Democratic side, four people are vying for the right to go up against U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley in November:  Thomas Fiegan, Robert Hogg, Patty Judge, and Bob Krause.

Voters in Marshall County will also determine who will go up against incumbent Republican Dean Fisher for the Democratic side of the ticket for Iowa House District 72. John Anderson and Nathan Wrage are vying for this right.

Polls are open at 19 precincts in Marshall County next Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
