Primary Election Being Held Today

The Primary election is being held today, Tuesday, June 7. Polls in Marshall County will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Take a look at your voter registration card to see where you polling place is. You can call the county auditor’s office at the Marshall County Courthouse with questions at 641-754-6323. Among the county races, only one is contested – that being on the Republican side for County Board of Supervisors between retiring Sheriff, Ted Kamatchus and newcomer Steve Salasek. The winner will face Jon Muller from the Democratic side in November. The biggest state race will determine a Democratic challenger for incumbent U.S. Senator, Chuck Grassley. Also some Marshall County voters will determine which of two Democrats will face incumbent Dean Fisher for the Iowa House District 72 seat – either John Anderson or Nathan Wragge. We will have results on the radio tonight as soon as the returns are in.
