(Ankeny, IA) – One person is dead..another is injured following an early morning crash along I-35SB in Ankeny. The accident happened shortly after 6 this morning along SB I-35 near the First Street Exit. The multi-vehicle pile-up had the freeway shutdown for several hours, while police, fire and EMS were on the scene investigating. Traffic was diverted off the freeway. Officials say, one of the drivers involved in the crash took off on foot but was later apprehended. Police are not releasing the name of the victim who died in the accident or the individual who was taken to a local hospital at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
