The Marshalltown City Council is expected to take action on a proposal to set August 2nd as a date for a vote on financing a new police and fire station when they meet today at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. The location proposed is at South Second Street and West Anson Streets. An architectural firm called Prochaska and Associates has estimated the cost of the proposed project at some 17 million dollars. It`s a busy agenda today for the City Council. The meeting is open to the public.
