The Marshalltown School Board Monday night approved the salaries of those in the Marshalltown Education Association, Food Service, Transportation, Buildings and Grounds, and the Para Educators. The Board also approved the purchasing of 1,235 chrome books plus 140 spares primarily for students at Miller Middle School and the High School. A business called Gov Connection of Merimack New Hampshire made the low bid for the chrome books at a price tag of $253,965.40. The School Board approved internal borrowing of up to a million dollars for the SAVE/SILO fund to cover overages and completion of construction projects. The money would be paid back with interest by June 30th of next year. In personnel moves: Jeff Weinberg, Director of Information Technology has resigned to take a job with an Area Education Agency in Des Moines, Doctor Lisa Stephenson has been hired as Director of Instruction for the district, and Brett Curtis has been hired as Director of Buildings and Grounds for the district.
