(Marshalltown, IA) – Three men convicted of brutally murdering a Marshall County mother 22 years ago were back in court today…waiting to be re-sentenced. Twin brothers Burt and Derek Smith along with their friend Jayson Speaks, were 15-years-old when they brutally murdered Rebecca Hauser. The men were originally sentenced to life in prison without parole. Family members of Rebecca Hauser packed the court room for an emotional hearing that just wrapped up. A Marshall County Judge upheld the original convictions and re-sentenced all three men to life in prison WITH the possibility of parole.
