Officials with the Sac and Fox Settlement say the rest of this years Meskwaki Pow Wow at Tama has been cancelled after a death in the community. The Des Moines Police Department is reporting the victim in a vehicle accident Thursday near the Iowa State Fairgrounds is identified as 18 year old Kyaus Davenport of Tama and an injured person is identified as 17 year old Amaris Walker of Tama who remains hospitalized. The Pow Wow had been in its 102nd year and had gone through one days worth of festivities on the Meskwaki Settlement grounds four miles outside of Tama including two grand entrances.
