(Des Moines, IA) – A child is recovering today after being seriously injured in a hit and run crash in Des Moines. It happened along University Avenue near 23rd Street. Witnesses reported seeing the boy crossing the street when an SUV came speeding out…striking the child and leaving the scene. Police caught up with the driver of the SUV at a nearby medical center. 32-year-old Naoimie McDonald of Norwalk has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a serious injury accident. The boy is expected to survive.
