(Des Moines, IA) – The fight continues between a group of land owners and members of the Iowa Utilities Board over construction of the controversial Bakkahen Oil Pipeline. In a hearing yesterday, board members denied a request by land owners to delay construction of the pipeline while a court reviews a lawsuit they’ve filed. The suit challenges the board’s authority to allow eminent domain for a privately owned pipeline project. The land owners are not giving up. They plan on appealing the board’s action to District Court.
