A pleasant Labor Day holiday weekend in the listening area. Rain free weather has been pleasing to people engaged in a variety of activities. A lot of attention Friday night on the Marshalltown Bobcat High School football game, the Cats fell to Mason City 15-9, Saturday lots of attention on Iowa City where the Hawks beat Miami of Ohio 45-21, and of course in Ames where UNI knocked off Iowa State 25-20. Traffic was heavy in the Ames area before and especially after the game. Marshalltown had high temperatures Saturday of 76 and Sunday of 79. The next best chance of rain is Tuesday night. Linn Street was reopened to traffic at noon Saturday after the bulk of the demolition work with the Saint Mary`s property was completed, the school, the gym and the convent all were demolished.
