The latest on crop conditions in the listening area are that things, generally speaking, are going pretty good. According to the USDA, which puts out a weekly crop report, 83% of the corn last week was in good to excellent condition and 82% of the soybeans were in good to excellent condition. The most rain reported last week was at the Ames Airport with 3.44 inches of rain. Temperature extremes according to State Climatologist, Harry Hillaker, were 93 for a high at Burlington and 46 for a low at Coggan which is in Linn County.
