The University of Washington won more than the Pac-12 championship game. The Huskies most likely played their way into the College Football playoff. Playoff bids are announced Sunday

No. 4 Washington walloped ninth-ranked Colorado 41-10 for their first Pac-12 title since 2000. Myles Gaskin anchored a solid running game for Coach Chris Petersen’s Huskies. He ran 29 times for 159 yards. Taylor Rapp returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown.

Washington finished with a 12-1 record while Colorado fell to 10-3.

Earlier, No. 13 Western Michigan completed a perfect regular season by holding off Ohio University 29-23 in the Mid-American Conference championship game in Detroit. The 13-0 Broncos won their first MAC title since 1988.

WMU became the first undefeated team to win the MAC title game since Marshall in 1999. The question is whether the Broncos have done enough to make it to the Cotton Bowl. WMU is trying to earn the Group of Five bid to a New Year’s Six bowl.

Western Michigan’s Corey Davis had eight catches for 144 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Butch Hampton kicked five field goals.

The Bobcats finished 8-5. They haven’t won the MAC title since 1968.
