The Marshalltown School Board Tuesday night approved the schematic designs for Phase Two of the Roundhouse project. The work was done by F-E-H design out of Dubuque. The addition would have a wrestling room and an auxilary gym that would connect with the rest of the school. The designs are preliminary in nature. School Board also approved a Swings With Kids Golf Program to be conducted Kindergarten through 8th grade in the school district. Funds for the program were provided by the Martha Ellen Tye Foundation and local golfers. Six employees of the school district will be taking early retirement at the end of the school year including Fisher Elementary Principal Vicki Vopava, Special Ed Teacher Grant Brintnall who has been with the district 33 years, and Don Wiser who has been with the district 44 years. Together the retirees have 150 years of experience. 20 students will be graduating early including three juniors.
