Two track and field athletes from Marshalltown High School have qualified for the state meet next weekend in Des Moines. Thrower Maddux Richardson won 1st place at a district meet in Ames in the shot put and Malory Henze won 2nd place at districts in discus. Linn Mar and Ames finished first and second at a boys district tennis meet held on the campus of MHS Thursday. The MHS girls golf team Thursday finished 2nd at the S-E Polk invite at copper Creek at Pleasant Hill shooting a team total of 360, Kassy Vest carded an 82. Both the boys and girls soccer teams will be in action Friday night. The girls will be home to Dowling Catholic at Leonard Cole Field at 7:30 p-m and the boys will be at Dowling Catholic in West Des Moines at 6:30 p-m.
