Marshalltown Police Chief Michael Tupper gave an annual report at Monday`s Marshalltown City Council meeting. The Chief says in 2016 there were 26-thousand calls for service to the 9-1-1 Center, 15-thousand 9-1-1 calls made to to dispatch. he reports drug and property related crimes are the biggest problem for Marshalltown and that the two go hand in hand. Chief Tupper says it marked the six year the department has focused on community building efforts. He says violent crime is rare in Marshalltown and that the department responds quick to solve those cases. Chief Tupper says he proud of the police department staff, he called them everyday heroes.
