At the latest Marshalltown City Council meeting, the Central Business District announced they have halted an effort to established a self supported municipal improvement district and have gone back to the drawing board. The issue became divisive with two sides. In other action at the council meeting, work is going to be needed on the Center Street bridge over Linn Creek, a bid for the work was awarded to Jasper Construction. The bridge will need to be closed for three weeks while the work takes place. 27 resolutions were passed by council that had to do with bid packages for work on the police and fire station project.
