Purk Found Guilty…Again

Tait Purk was found guilty for the second time in as many trials in the death of his fiancée, Cora Ann Okonski of Tama in 2000. Tama County District Court Judge Ian Thornhill declared Tait guilty of second-degree murder.

Purk had been found guilty of first degree murder in a jury trial earlier this year, but the verdict was thrown out and this second trial was ordered. Purk will be sentenced on the second-degree verdict in February.
