If you do the grocery shopping, you know that the price of eggs continues to increase. It won’t be getting better any time soon, according to Iowa State professor Hongwei Xin, who directs the Egg Industry Council says one reason is demand.

The bottom line? Xin says to expect a 30 cent increase in the price for a dozen eggs as the new year begins.

Xin adds Iowa is far and away the top egg producing state in the nation.
