The proposed cuts to Iowa’s current year budget, unveiled last week in the Senate, continued to take aim at Iowa’s community colleges. From what was originally thought to be a one-point-four million dollar cut in funding a couple of weeks ago, it is now up to five-point-four million dollars in loss of funding. Iowa Valley Community College District Chancellor Dr. Chris Duree says community colleges are certainly not feeling the love.

The hope is that by the time the budget cats are approved, that maybe the damage to community colleges won’t be as bad as it looks right now.
