The spoofing of a state senator has led to bill taking aim at those telemarketers who hijack a phone number to make sales pitches. It happened again to Oskaloosa Stat Senator Ken Rozenboom, whose phone rang Monday and, seeing it was a 641 area code with an Oskaloosa prefix, he answered. It was a tele-marketer. Rozenboom had enough.
He is now sponsoring the “Truth In Caller ID Act”. It cleared a subcommittee hearing yesterday…and as soon as the Senator walked out of the meeting room, his phone rang…and you guessed it, another one of those calls.
