It’s always nice to have some bragging rights. The state of Iowa now has plenty to brag about after U.S. News & World report crowned Iowa number one in its 2018 “Best States” rankings. The magazine looks at eight different categories and 77 metrics to make its determination. Republican State Representative Dean Fisher echoes what many Iowans are saying about the ranking; He always knew Iowa was the best.

Iowa ranked third in healthcare, fifth on education, fourth in opportunity, up 13 spots to 17 in economy and number one in ultra-fast internet access.
