Iowa State redshirt freshman Cameron Lard is facing a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in February.
The charge, which has not been previously reported, stems from a traffic stop on Feb. 4, when Ames Police cited Lard for speeding. Lard consented to a search of the vehicle and the officer “located a glass pipe in the back passenger side door console, with residue on it.
A jury trial is set for May 8, in Story County district court.
ISU coach Steve Prohm declined to comment when reached by the Ames Tribune on Wednesday. The athletic department also declined comment through a spokesperson.
The 6-foot-9 Lard started every game for the Cyclones following the citation except for ISU’s senior night on Feb. 27 when Prohm started each senior on the roster.
