After sixteen years. Dr, Richard Dowell is leaving the Marshalltown and closing the privately owned Women’s Health Care Group.  Notices have been sent to patients, as well as Unity Point Health-Marshalltown. Vice President of Unity Point Health, Dustin Wright,  says the goal is to keep the clinic operating at its current location without any lapses in service.

Wright says the hospital has a “very high interest” in retaining the services of the mid-wives who work at the Clinic. He says he hopes there will be a formal announcement in the days ahead, so women will have no lapse in their care.
