A Jasper County man died after being trapped in a grain bin, according to authorities.

First responders found rural Kellogg resident David William “Bill” Hotger, 78, inside the bin just after eight yesterday morning.  and tried to pull him out.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said a Mercy One helicopter took Hotger to a Des Moines hospital, where he died.
