DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds says she will lead a trade mission to Thailand to promote the purchase of Iowa-grown soybeans and other products from the state.
Reynolds announced Monday she would leave April 5 for the weeklong trip, which is being organized and paid for by the Iowa Soybean Association.
Besides Reynolds, the delegation will include Kirk Leeds, the Iowa Soybean Association's chief executive officer, and Brian Kemp, a farmer from Sibley who is the association's president.
Reynolds says in a statement that Thailand, with a large soy food industry and population of 69 million, offers a potentially lucrative market for increase Iowa soybean exports.
