Marshalltown School Board Moves Ahead with PLTW

During a special meeting this week, the Marshalltown School Board agreed to move forward with a renovation of classrooms into Bio Medical and Engineering Laboratories as part of Project Lead The Way. The project has a completion date by Mid October, something that board member Larry Schrum says needs to be met.

Schrum said, "If that's not going to be possible, we're going to have to come up with some sort of different arrangement. The deeper we get into the semester, and these kids still don't have the services that they need, it's going to become very problematic."
The board agreed to move up the deadline for bids to May 23rd at 2PM, and a special meeting will be held on May 24th at noon to consider those bids. An opportunity for bidders to see the design area will take place on May 21st.

The project is estimated to cost $355,000.
