Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) is holding its first ever Garden Party on March 23, 2019 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at Elmwood Country Club to raise funds to help support the programs and mission at Child Abuse Prevention Services.
CAPS is excited to invite the community to attend the Garden Party. The Garden Party will begin with a Brunch, after which attendees have exclusive early access to the Vendor Show from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The Vendor Show will be open to the public from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Tickets for the Brunch and early access to vendors are on sale at the CAPS office for $30. The vendor show will have a $5 entry fee at the door.
The Garden Party will be a great event for a girl’s day of good food, shopping, and giving back to our local community. There will be a wide variety of high quality vendors ranging from clothing to home goods to cleaning and self-care products. These vendors are both local and “imported” from neighboring communities. All proceeds will go to Child Abuse Prevention Services which will have a positive impact on children and families in our community. By attending the Brunch portion of the Garden Party attendees will learn about the services available at CAPS and some ways to get involved and be a positive influence for the children in their lives.
It is Child Abuse Prevention Services’ mission to prevent child abuse in Marshall County and the surrounding areas by alleviating the conditions that contribute to child abuse. This is accomplished through the provision of direct service prevention programs, development of community awareness, educating the public and professionals on parenting skills and the early detection of child abuse, identification of resources available and gaps in the service or referral system, and promoting interagency cooperation and quality communication in abuse and neglect cases.
Child Abuse Prevention Services is funded in part by Marshalltown Area United Way.
