Weather Staff BIOS
Jeff Smith
Like many of Jeff's fellow Meteorologists, he took an interest in weather as a kid. Growing up in Connecticut and Ohio, most kids got excited waiting for cartoons to come on tv, but Jeff got excited hearing those "beep tones" when a severe thunderstorm warning was issued. He often drove his parents crazy around 6 PM each night watching all the tv weathercasts on all the Cleveland stations. Jeff's dad thought his interest in weather was just a hobby, but that hobby eventually turned into a Meteorology degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Jeff and his wife Beth have 4 year old twins, Zoe and Henry. Before November 2000, he regularly enjoyed playing golf, basketball and boating. After November 2000, the boat got sold, the golf clubs gathered dust and he found out what the inside of Chuck E. Cheese looked like.
