A special election will be held in Marshalltown Tuesday to alter the distribution of the local option sales tax. Four precincts are being used for the election which is a yes/no vote, it will take a simple majority to pass. If passed 78 percent of the monies would be used for property tax relief, 22 percent for any lawful purpose.
