The Gallery Garden adjacent to the Kibbey Building in Marshalltown was showcased Thursday and drew a large crowd of people, many seeing the garden for the first time. The owners are Barb Hagstrand and Jeff Mitchell. The gallery is all about storm water management and rain harvesting and is the first of its kind in Iowa. The open space area is seen as a place to escape. Already it is a popular place to go for an outdoor lunch in downtown Marshalltown. The Kibbey Building dates back to 1895 and contains upstairs apartment lofts while the first floor is being rehabbed.
