A Carroll man was the individual shot and killed by an Iowa State Trooper on Sunday in Webster County.

Trooper Justin Parmin stopped to assist what appeared to be a stranded vehicle, when Joshua Ewing opened fire on him. Parmin returned fire and killed Ewing.

The investigation into the incident by the DCI is continuing.
