Monday, June 29th is the last day Wisconsin farmers can apply for the state’s coronavirus direct payments program.
Governor Tony Evers took a recommendation from Wisconsin
farm organizations and set 50-million dollars from the federal CARES Act for
the Farm Support Program, which will pay between $1,000 and $3,500 dollars to
applicants on a sliding scale in mid-July.
As of last Tuesday, 10,000 of the estimated 26,000 eligible
farmers had applied for the funding.
