Dan was born September 16, 1951 to parents Dale and Lois (Kaufmann) Wilson in Marshalltown, IA.  He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1969 and then attended junior college.  He went on to receive his associate’s degree from DeVry University.  Dan honorably served in the United States Army.  On June 21, 1986 he was united in marriage to Joy (Gibson) in Tempe, AZ.  Dan worked for almost 30 years as a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Intel Corporation.

Dan was incredibly kind and helped everyone because, as he always would say, “it was the right thing to do.”  He could fix anything.  He was passionate about saving the monarch butterfly and set out more than 225 butterflies this year alone.
