A storm system crossing the east-central Plains will reach exit the lower Great Lakes region by Thanksgiving Day. Snow will linger in parts of the upper Midwest, while additional rainfall could total an inch or more in parts of the southern and eastern Corn Belt. Thanksgiving Day, should feature mild, generally tranquil weather nearly nationwide, with scattered showers confined to the eastern U.S. and portions of the Gulf Coast region.
