A high-wind event, accompanied by some rain and snow showers, will continue through mid-week across the northern Plains. Meanwhile, Northwestern storminess will subside, starting on Thursday. During the second half of the week, a cold front will sweep across the central and eastern U.S., bearing rain and snow showers, along with gusty winds. However, the air trailing the front will not be unusually cold for this time of year; weekend temperatures will remain below the freezing mark (below 32°) only in the Great Lakes region.
