The USDA’s national corn condition rating held steady last week while soybeans dipped slightly. Last week was another wide-ranging week for U.S. weather, with some areas experiencing flooding due to heavy rainfall, other areas seeing continued drought conditions, and some others looking ideal for this time of year.
As of Sunday, 64% of U.S. corn is in good to excellent shape, unchanged on the week and 7% below a year ago, with 10% of the crop silking, compared to the five-year average of 14%.
