All 99 counties in the state have again shown a decrease in unemployment in June as compared to June of 2020…which of course was in the midst of the pandemic. Marshall County’s rate fell over two percent to 6.2 percent, which is still the third highest rate in the state. Story County continues with the lowest county rate at 3.6 percent.

The City of Marshalltown’s rate rose seven-tenths of one percent to 6.9 percent from May to June. Burlington’s rate is up to 7.6 percent for the highest amongst cities.
