Ronda was born on November 21, 1931, to Russell and Arleen Bagnall in Petoskey, Michigan. During Ronda’s childhood the Bagnall family moved several times, finally settling in Marshalltown, Iowa, where the family business, Arbie Scooter Feeds was founded by her father. Ronda had many fond childhood memories growing up with her 2 brothers. Graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1949, Ronda attended junior college and worked as secretary at the family feed business. She married the love of her life, Leroy Rohde in 1951 and they had 4 children. Raising her children was her passion and the Rohde kids were a lot of work. Ronda was actively involved in her local community, writing for the Arbie newsletter, an active member of Christian Women’s Club, Marshalltown P.O.E Chapter, and Bridge Club. Leroy passed away at the age of 76 in 2004 after a long fight with heart disease, however prior to his passing they purchased their year round home in Englewood Florida where Ronda would reside. Ronda loved life! She was an involved person, co-owning and managing Main Street Antique Mall with her son, Tim, delivering Meals on Wheels, actively participating as a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, golfing. fishing, writing, but most of all being with and entertaining friends and family. Traveling with her family to many remote destinations was one of her most enjoyable experiences. Ronda remained very active until well into her late 80’s. The term “Great Lady” is usually used to describe a woman who had her own style, a strong character, deep wisdom, charisma and generosity. Ronda embodied all of that. She was a loving wife and a devoted and caring mother. She had a great sense of humor and love for adventure. In the last few years, Ronda has repeatedly said, “I’ve had a wonderful life and wouldn’t change it for anything! I have been blessed with good fortune, loving and caring children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and family.”
