Born Joy Rae Jenness on December 19, 1948 in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Edward and Virginia (Apgar) Jenness. After graduating from high school in State Center, she went on to attend beauty school in Des Moines, receiving her certificate in 1972. After meeting the love of her life, Doug Reynolds, they were united in marriage on June 26, 1976 in Marshalltown. A dedicated wife and mother, Joy’s love for helping others knew no bounds. She opened up her arms and her home to many children over the years by providing daycare, crisis care and foster care. Joy loved watching her grandchildren at their many activities and sporting events. She enjoyed shopping and searching for treasures at garage sales. More than anything else, she deeply loved her family and spending time with them.
