An organic crop farmer in southern Minnesota says the market has softened along with conventional corn and soybean prices.

Carolyn Olson farms in Lyon County and tells Brownfield margins have narrowed considerably.

“They’re not tied together, the organic and the conventional, but it’s more of a rubber band effect that they kind of do move together but there might be delays in one or the other.”

Olson serves as vice president of Minnesota Farm Bureau and says she’s hoping for better prices on the conventional side because that will help organic markets as well.
