The Red, White, and Blue Fourth of July Celebration is multiday event.  It all starts this Thursday, July 2nd in the 13th Street District.  13th Street District Board President Heidi Draisey says they are holding a Cruise Through, where classic cars will roll through the 13th Street District and the Veterans Home.

Draisey says they will have food trucks and a DJ playing tunes starting at 5:30.  She says they want to highlight veterans

Anyone with a classic car, truck, or tractor can still get signed up and be a part of the Cruise Through.

The Red, White, and Blue Fourth of July Celebration all kicks off on Thursday, July 2nd.  Activities will continue on Friday, July 3rd in the 13th Street District with a few concerts.

That is Board President for the 13th Street District, Heidi Draisey.  She talks about the headliner who will take the stage following the Marshalltown Community Band.

Draisey says there is no cost to attend the concerts, she suggests bringing a lawn chair to blanket to sit on.

Saturday is the day, the 250th Birthday for America.  Marshalltown’s Red, White, and Blue Celebration will start tomorrow in the 13th Street district and continue through Saturday.  Saturday morning starts in the West End Park with some yoga.  Here is 13th Street Board President, Heidi Drasiey.

The warm up is for the 5k run that is planned to start at 8am

Check-in for the Race will begin at 7:30.  After the race there will be a parade that goes through the Iowa Vets Home and the 13th Street District.

After the parade there will be food trucks and some inflatables in the Iowa Veterans Home grounds.  There will be some little league games played at Valor Field.  Activities will move to the 6th Street Softball complex in the afternoon.
