This is a special year and a special month for Story County Medical Center. On Thursday, September 10th Story County Medical Center will turn 75 years old. Stephanie Marsau, Director of Marketing, says this is an incredible milestone for their organization.
Marsau talks about the history of a hospital in Nevada, and originally it was not Story County Medical Center called The Sanitarium, which burnt down in the 1940s.
Because the building of Story County Medical Center was in the middle of World War II, it took over 7 years to build a new hospital in Nevada. There have been a lot of changes to their building since then.
Some of the longest tenured employees have been at Story County Medical Center for 30 plus years and are now taking care of the daughter or granddaughter of previous patients. Celebrate with Story County Medical Center and check out their Facebook page for old photos and stories they have shared throughout this year.
