In cash cattle country, some light live trade is being reported in parts of the South at $180 to mostly $181, $4 lower than last week’s weighted averages. Dressed deals in the North are being marked at $287, $5 lower than last week’s weighted averages. Some asking prices are firm around $183 in Kansas and Texas, and $288 to $289 in Nebraska and Iowa.

Boxed beef was mixed at midday. Choice is $.30 higher at $299.05 and Select was down $.54 at $270.49.
