The official high temperature in Marshalltown Thursday was 93 according to the National Weather Service. The temp hit 100 at Aberdeen South Dakota. It was a day and a night to hunker down or at least to figure out a way to let your body get used to the hot weather. Here in Marshalltown the Senior Center is one outlet for shelter between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The Marshalltown Aquatic Center was busy, so were the Dairy Queens and the Tasty Freeze. The forecast indicates that there will be three more days of the warm weather. Experts say stay hydrated, put on sun screen before you go out, and do not leave children or animals in your vehicle for any length of time.
