There was a fire in Marshalltown on Wednesday, September 7 in afternoon. Marshalltown Fire Chief, David Rierson says it happened at 317 North 10th Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the rear of a residence there, and a resident told them there was no one else inside. He says two small dogs were found inside and they are okay. The resident was sent to the emergency room at Central Iowa Health Care to get checked out. The fire is under investigation and damage was estimated to be $3,000.
