The city of Marshalltown continues to remind residents of a special election Tuesday to alter the distribution of the Local Option Sales Tax. City Administrator Jessica Kinser says this is budgetarily motivated, it will be a simple yes/no vote that would take a 50% plus one majority to pass. Four precincts will be used for the special election. An educational session called Budget 101 will be held at the Marshalltown Public Library at six tonight.
