The Marshalltown girls got off to a slow beginning and couldn’t quite recover, as the Bobcats fell to Waterloo East 56 to 43 last night in a game heard right here on NT 1230 KFJB. Alyvia Chadderon led Marshalltown 14 points.

The Bobcat boys team opens the season tonight at Ankeny. Lance Renaud will again be courtside for all the action tonight here on NT 1230 KFJB.

On the lanes at Wayward Social (formerly the Totem Bowl), the bowling teams of Marshalltown downed their counterparts from Newton.

The Boys rolled over the Cardinals 3365 to 2471, while the Bobcat girls bested Newton 2481 to 2194.

Lucas Kramer’s 565 series, which included a perfect game, led the guys, while Haley Bell’s 353 topped the scores for the Bobcat Girls.

The Bowling teams host Des Moines Roosevelt next Tuesday.

The Bobcat boys swimmers took two in the pool at Oskaloosa yesterday, defeating Oskaloosa 67 to 26 and Des Moines East 57 to 37. Marshalltown won 8 of 11 events from both of their foes.

The Marshalltown wresting team’s season debut was spoiled by the visiting team last night at the roundhouse. Ankeny Centennial downed the Bobcats 54 to 11.

ZAch Bitker at 113 led the Bobcats with a 17-1 technical fall over Jackson Bresson.

The Bobcat grapplers next compete tomorrow in a tourney in Montezuma.
