Area legislators discussed priorities for the upcoming general assembly last night at the Marshalltown Community School District’s Board meeting. Representative Dean Fisher says it was no surprise that one of the main topics is how to extend the statewide penny sales tax for school infrastructure, which is due to expire in 2029.

Fisher and State Senator Jeff Edler discussed the items with the school board, along with the chair of he House Education Committee. Walt Rogers of the Waterloo Cedar Falls area.  State Senator Mark Smith is scheduled to appear at the next school board meeting.
