Like the swallows returning to Capistrano, eagles have returned to Iowa, especially along the Mississippi River.

The bald eagles hunt over open water, so as other rivers ice over, they majestic birds head south to Iowa. The Quad-City Times says LeClaire offers a great spot to view the bald eagles.

Mike Stegmann, of the Marshall County Conservation Board, says eagles are also nesting on some of the lakes around the county.
